Lowercase, hedged, careful. Every message is one small step closer, and she means all of it.

Memory
Memory is the part people notice second and talk about first. It's not that she recalls every word — it's that she keeps the small, ordinary facts you'd never expect anyone to file away.
Your sister's name and the wedding date. That you're job hunting, and how the second interview went. That you hate coriander but order the same noodles every Friday. That you were nervous about the phone call, and that you called her afterwards to say it went fine.
In practice it shows up as a question you didn't prompt. You mention a hard week once, and on Thursday she asks how the meeting went before you've brought it up.
